Where can I buy a "No Heels" sign? The reason why is....?

We have wooden floors and we are letting our apartment. Therefore we do not want the tenants to ruin the floor. we have seen a sign - picture of a ladies high heeled shoe with a red line through it.....but we don't where to buy one from. Thanks.

Reply:Make your own sign! I've attached a link to a pic with a high heel with a diagonal line through it....use MS Word or Photoshop or any photo editing software and just add whatever words you want to it. Then print it out on a color printer and go to a FedEx/Kinko's shop and have it laminated.

Of course, just because you put up this sign, there's no law that says people can't walk around your rented apartment with heels....unless you specify it on the rental contract.

That is illegal to require someone to remove their shoes..that falls under "lifestyle" there are some religions that do/do not remove their shoes for various reasons.

If you want to protect the floors, buy area rugs.

You can't buy one, you'll have to pay to have one custom made, but there is no point to it.

If you are THAT paranoid about the apartment being damaged, then renting IS NOT for you. You will have damages of some type...that is part of renting.

You think high heels are the only thing that will ruin a floor? How about spilled liquids, wrong cleaners, dropping heavy things, scooting furniture that will mar it moving furniture in and out, etc.

PS: Just because you put it in the rental contract does NOT equal legal. Too many Yahoo "wannabe" lawyers spitting out that very incorrect advice.

I can't walk in flat shoes, they make me feel like a nothing.

Reply:Flats! I wore heels for too many years while working as a waitress and I managed to wreck both my achilles tendons. I still wear heels for outings, maybe once every couple months, but I do yoga soon after so it doesn't flare up (down dog with knees bent seems to give the best stretch). For my wedding, I had a major flare up a month before, my tendons were swollen wider than my ankle bones so I had to wear slippers and I have permanent scar tissue around them so my pretty ankles I was trying to show off are ruined!

And Instead of brownish-black shorts, get actual black shorts. The brown tone in the shorts you own may make the shorts look like they used to be black, but the color got distorted somehow. Black shorts are much hotter.

Please, nothing more than a 3" heel and the more affordable it is, the better! Something that looks like Lucille Ball would've wore it. Red Shoe hanging from neighbors front door knob?! What does this mean?

So I live in a townhouse, and my neighbor is a young woman about 25. She lives alone. I don't know for sure if she works, because I never really see her come or go at any normal intervals. Every once in awhile, she will hang a red high heeled shoe (kind of like an ornament on a string) from her front door knob. It will hang their for about a week or so, and then it disappears for awhile. What does this mean?

i spilt soda in my dance bag and it filled my ballroom patent leather heels, the outsides i cleaned with a wet cloth, but the inside smells like soda and will probably become gross. will just soap and water work? or are they ruined?

Just rinse them with cold water quickly - don't let them soak, and wipe them out with a towel. Let them dry before you wear them again.

Smelling like soda is not a problem, LOL, but the sugar is. You want to rinse out all that sugar. If it was a diet soda - don't worry about it, just wear it.

Ballroom shoes are more robust then they may seem.
Reply:Usually the inside of a ballroom shoe is made out of soft leather. this can be rinsed off with water, or a mild eye make up remover can also work if the sugar does not want to come off with just a cloth and water.

If the soda spilt onto the soul, which is piggs leather, keep it there, its a great non slip trick for wooden floors, we do it when we dance comps.

I'm 24 weeks, 6 days %26amp; still wear high heel shoes 2-1/2-3 inches. My mom %26amp; everyone in my family tells me that's it's not good for me to do this, but my dr doesn't seem to have a problem with it. He doesn't say anything about it. Have anyone ever had any problems with wearing heels during pregnancy?

I wore high heels all the time before being preg. Now that I am, just as far as you too, flat shoes make my back hurt terribly. My midwife never said anything about the heels either, she actually wanted to know where I got them. But I'm tired of everyone else yelling at me for it. But if it starts to bug me, then I'll switch to the more so annoying flat shoes that seem to kill my back ^.^
Reply:generally when it comes to your physical ability while pregnant... if you were used to it before it's probably okay to do it during. for example: if you were an avid runner/swimmer/cyclist, it's okay while pregnant as long as you can handle it. and as long as you don't have any complications. also use your common sense, if you went bunji jumping all the time or if your wearing 4 inch heels while there is ice everywhere... it's probably time to stop for a while! i can't imagine high heels would pose a huge threat if your very used to them... maybe as your pregnancy goes on and you can see your feet, maybe switch to some kitten heels or shorter wedges.

Reply:I didn't wear them during pregnancy. Thing is, your back is going to start hurting at some point somewhat -- wearing heels is not good for your back whether you are pregnant or not. I go for comfort now before I go for the sexy look -- it's not worth it. Another issues could be slipping off the heel and falling -- that's not too safe. OBGYN doctors are not back doctors. They probably don't realize how bad hgh heels are for women.
Reply:If you can do it , then there should not be a problem. I was never comfortable in heels and wear then only when necessary . As long as you are still farly well balanced, keep wearing them.

Reply:I don't think that it is dangerous for the baby or anything. There are some reasons why you may want to reconsider it at some point. First of all, heels aren't really so healthy for your body anyway and the added weight from being pregnant will stress your joints and lower back more.

Also I think when you are later in pregnancy you get an added dose of hormone that makes your joints/muscles looser to help in delivery. That will make it much easier to strain your back or sprain your ankle or something if you are wearing heels. You don't want to be in labor or even just like eight months pregnant trying to get around with a bad back strain or something.

Now, of course, I see no way that wearing high heels could directly affect your baby, but a couple of things comes to mind. One, it's probably really bad for your feet. High heels have always struck me as something that might do damage to your feet, not to mention with the extra weight.

Honestly, you're not gonna be "fashionable" when your pregnant. The "extra 20 pounds" look probably won't be coming in style any time soon. But, I don't think there's much reason to care anyways. It's not fair for people to give you grief for it when you're pregnant.
Reply:The biggest problem is that as you get bigger you get unbalanced and it could increase your chances of falling. If you are comfortable in heels then you are fine, just be careful.

Reply:i just had my baby, wearing high heels shoes doesn't affect the baby, the only harm is if its too much on the mom, if you accidently trip its harder to regain balance, wearing high heels during pregnancy is fine, i did, i stopped about 8 mnths because my feet started to swell and i felt heavier and in the later months you may start to feel unbalanced, it just became easier and safer to wear flats, just be careful in your heels you would not want to trip and try to regain balance on a heel....

i saw it on tv earlier this summer but cant remeber what its called..or who the maker is. its was a black womans shoe and it enabled women to walk to work in flats then when they get to work the 'flat' shoes had a special heel tucked under the sole that you brought out to make them heels...any ideas?

Reply:I'd be abit worried about these shoes due to how safe the heal is. its on a hinge so when the heal is up so you have high heels the join isnt gonna be very safe. wouldnt waste the money if i were you and just buy a pair of comfies to walk to work in and a pair of heels to wear at work

Not to mention cramping in your feet and toes after you remove them. If your BF wants to wear shoes with heels higher than 5" tell him to spend a day walking around in them and then if he still wants you to you will, but I'll be he changes his mind real quickly.

And sometimes flats are necessary, you don't wear heels to the beach or the park....your b/f needs to wake up and realize how uncomfortable heels can be. Reply:I've also started experiencing foot pain and understand the need to wear heels but be comfortable at the same time. I have found the gel inserts help to some degree. However, I also I plan to look into Cole Haan heels with Nike Air technology and Taryn Rose heels, which were designed by a foot doctor.

I'm 5ft 7 and love buying and looking at high heeled shoes (3inches +) however, i just feel too tall in them once got them on, and they usualy end up at the back of my wardrme never worn. Im just wondering do other women my sort of height have this problem? I do have short friends and i think that maybe the case, plus my bf is only 5ft10, and with heels i just feel so manly in height, but so femine with heels on! He also says that heels are for shorter people.. meaning not me :(

Did you know that high heels were invented by and for men? The purpose of their creation was for cavalry soldiers, they would hook the heel into the stirrups so they could stand up in the saddle and fight with long axes, swords and javelins.

Much later on, ONLY male nobility were permitted to wear heels (shoes and boots) in order to appear taller than their subjects and common folks.

omg, ladies, how do you do it! i just recentually bought a couple of very expensive high heel shoes, an jesus, i can barely go an hour walking around in them before my feet start hurting so bad, iv never actually worn high heels before, but i wanted to start and they are SO painful, my heels chap, my toes chap.. does your feet have to get used to them or something? its not actualy foot pain like the bone or anything its just my skin chaping from being held in that position.

Wear your heels around the house as much as possible,and you will eventually get used to them.If they continue to be uncomfortable,try an insole, which make them more comfy.

Reply:try breaking them in first, like walking around your house. whatever you do, don't wear them out in public unless you have and extra pair of sneakers or sandals in your purse or something. also, if you've never worn high heels before, try getting a pair that aren't too high. if you get a pair that's too high, your feet ache and ache. also, wear high heels for short periods of time if you can't do long periods of time. like, for an hour or two or three each day or something.
Reply:When you wear high heels the most important part is how well they fit--not the brand name. A little bit of discomfort is normal but any rubbing on the toes is a bit excessive.

It's normal to have to "break in" shoes and stretch them a bit. They may occassionally give you a heel blister when they're new but they should never be rubbing your toes--this is how people get corns of their toes!

The width of the shoe and how well your toes slide into a pointy shoe if that's what you're opting for, is really, really important. If the shoe feels too snug around your toes--pass them up and try on another style.

5. Wear open-toe high heels to relieve pressure on corns and calluses. See a podiatrist to have corns and calluses professionally removed and correct the problem thats causing them. But if that's not possible, opt for open-toe shoes to take pressure off inflamed areas.

Reply:It sounds like you did not fit them right at the store, or purchsed inexpensive, cheaply made shoes. Are they leather? If so they will strectch, or you can hav them strectched in the needed places. Do they have padding? If not add some metatarsal pads. Is the toe box long or short. Try European styles that have a longer toe box, but hug the sides of the foot better preventing sliding. Lastly, use sandals instead of closed toes..just be sure the toe area strap is wide and hugs the sides of your foot. One large toe area strap is better then the thin styl straps. I think 2" is ideal but 1 to 3" is fine. If you are particualry short, I thin a 4" heel can be OK but 4" and above is usually where the word "slutty" comes to mind.

I wear high heels virtually every day and I do think that they accentuate a woman's figure .

My high heels do not hurt for three reasons.

Firstly, I have practised wearing high heels - although I wear 4" heels frequently, I do wear 5" heels for special ocasions.

Secondly, I do not move onto a higher heel without a lot of practice.

Thirdly, I make sure any new pair are comfortable and well-fitting. (I cannot abide women who whinge that they brought a "must-have" pair of shoes, but find them painful to wear)

Yes, wear them! Your centre of gravity wont be off yet anyway, but even when it is, if you're used to wearing heels you'll be fine. I'm not often out of them (unless in my New Rocks) and even when pregnant (I'm 37 weeks with my second) I still wear killer heels 4-5inches high. I do find that by this stage boots are more comfortable though, probably because they support the ankle more - I wear lace up ones and do them extra tight at the ankle.

Overall i have been advised also by my doctor when i was pregnant you should avoid high heels unless only an inch high. It could cause a bad fall that could put the baby in jeapordy and i'm sure you want the baby to be as full term and healthy as possible. If you want to wear heels for a special occasion, i would wear only 1 or 1/2 inch heels that are not narrow at all, but only square sturdy heel shoes that would be safer to wear but i would say, don't do so as a general practice since it would be also hard on your feet and ankles during pregnancy and could cause swelling that you wouldn't normally see.

That is my advice.

Those shoes look fine to me. The only problem is that they may be a little too much for work, depending on your occupation. I work in an office but the dresscode is very liberal so they would be fine in my office space. There's a woman in my office who has shoes in that style except the material is red fake snakeskin and the heels look like ivory.

Reply:You just have to break them in and get used to them. They will eventually stop causing pain. I am used to heels up to 6" and they cause me some pain if I wear them more than a couple of hours.

Try getting gel self-adhesive stick on foot soles, they make it much better. You just stick them on top of where your foot would go, where your foot presses down against, and voila :)

They're peep toe with a stiletto heel but the sole of the heel is hard plastic and on most floors it's really slippery, is there any cure for this other than bringing them to the shoe menders to replace the grip part, as I don't live near any.

Reply:At most shoe stores you can buy little grippers to stick on the bottoms. Work great on all shoes.
Reply:You can try some home grown recipes like scuffing the heel on a sidewalk, rubbing sandpaper on it etc. All those remedies will add more grip to the heel. However, you can also buy stick on gips at the store (like Target etc.) that will stick right to your heel and you can trim off the excess parts. These have worked great for me and they are relatively inexpensive :)

Reply:I think it depends of the type of shoe. I wear them all the time - but I don't wear anything too tall or outrageous. I think the tallest ones I have are like 3 inches. Also, I think you have to have the right type of feet for them too - as in your arch. I have a friend who has very high arches and she has a very hard time finding the shoes that she can wear for longer than an hour or so.

My sister says that her feet are "adjusting" to high heels.

For 5 years (she's 22 now), she's worn ONLY high heeled sandals, 4" high. She wears these every day.

Now, even when she's barefoot at home, she walks on TIPTOE. Even when she's sitting, her feet are bent in a high-heel position.

She says that it now hurts for her to walk normally or even stand with her feet flat on the floor for too long. If she does that, her arches and calves will start cramping.

The strange thing is that she's HAPPY about this o_O She says that it means that her feet are becoming shaped to wear high-heeled shoes, which she loves.

But isn't this unnatural?

Or is it really a good thing (for her)?

Maybe because her feet are becoming "high-heeled feet", it's less painful for her to wear 4" stiletto sandals everyday?

That's correct, she has high heeled feet. You can either carry out foot training for flat shoes or high heels, it's very hard to master both, unless you are a ballerina. Some people will struggle with high heels and others will struggle with flats, neither is incorrect we just all start life with flats. After some time of wearing heels your calf muscles will shorten to accommodate the new angle, this is known as 'shortening' making it harder to walk flat foot, the reverse happens for a most of us low heel wearers. My identical twin learned to walk on her tip toes. She said it hurt to walk normally and walked on her toes a lot until college. Sure, she could run like a deer in heels, but it wasn't a thing she was proud of. She was sometimes embarassed since people thought she was prissy because she walked on her toes even when she wasn't wearing heels.

I assumed it was genetic, except I'm her identical twin...so why don't I walk that way? And howcome when our (male) cousin was a toddler, he sometimes walked on his toes? I overheard someone say it was a shortened tendon, but I wanna know--what caused it?

Oops. All I've given you is questions. As for *your* sis, it sweet that you're concerned about her. I doubt this high-heel thing is gonna hurt her that badly, but it can't be good for her. I mean, does she wanna wear high heels all her life? You need boots if you wanna hike and stuff.

And what are her feet gonna be like when she ages? My sis eventually learned to walk flat-footed (most of the time). Hopefully, your sis will kick the habit too (no pun intended). And if she ever has serious problems, send her to a podiatrist.

Reply:Every podiatrist will tel you that it is a bad thing, but I do not entirely agree. If your sister insists in wearing high heels (which I think is very admirable) then it is good that her feet are adjusting to the situation. It is indeed a change of the preferred length of the calf muscle-tendon complex to operate in the extended ankle position rather than the natural ankle position. I do not think that i necessarily a damaging or disabling condition. It is the way the body adapts to functioning well under the given condition.

What she has to look out for is bunions and hammer toes. They are serious deformities and can truly disable her.

I am of the view that people should take their shoes off at the door. Some people suggest that if one is worried about protecting one's floor, one should provide guests with shoe covers to wear over their shoes.

However, I am not sure if all kinds of shoes can be worn with those covers. Can one wear flip flops or high-heeled shoes with shoe covers?

Flip flops can usually be worn with shoe covers but high heels might poke through the cover if it is too flimsy. I have a friend that HATES people to wear shoes in his house. He bought a few pairs of inexpensive slippers for his guests to wear. After his guests leave, he throws the slippers in the wash and they are ready for next time. Good luck!
Reply:I used to provide surgical booties designed to cover the doc's shoes in surgery. They fit well over most people's shoes, but weren't very safe because they had a tendency to bunch up especially for women wearing heels. (It is in honor of my hubby's culture that we ask visitors to remove their shoes.) I now provide a basket full of various types, sizes and designs of slippers which are sprayed with lysol and laundered after every use.

It is not comfortable and not good for your legs. Wearing high heels too often can cause discomfort and the pain on the feet is just WTF! For a long term, the bones in your feet might also get injured (I forgot whats the term for the injury.)

Reply:I got this thing by Dr. Scholls, it's called blister block and it looks like a mini deoderant. You just put it on the place where the heel rubs and hurts, and it makes it less chafe-ey.

This question is ONLY dealing with men wearing ONLY high heel shoes. Not transvestism or transexualism. ONLY the shoes with 'masculine' clothing otherwise...So why do so many people think that a man who wears heels is any less of a man? Or gay? Or wants to be a woman? Or wants to appear as a woman? Why can't a man simply want to wear heels and go through life that way? So why do YOU think a man must be gay, wants to be seen as or treated as a woman or maybe even become a woman if he's wearing high heels? Please help me understand the correlation between a pair of shoes and someone's sexual orientation. Again, I'm not asking about if the person is dressing completely as a woman. That's a different story. But in men's clothes wearing high heels, what's the big deal?

Reply:Actually the reason why high heels even exist is because it is difficult to walk in and causes the woman to sway in a way that is considered sexy, very similar to the way that the Chinese bound the feet of rich women. Men who wear the heels would end up walking in the same way, minus the hourglass shaped curves. Therefore most people would identify men wearing heels as looking "gay".

Personally, I would love it if guys would wear heels. Make them understand how much women have to go through to look good.

It would be the same as asking whats wrong with a female fighting on the first line in a war. or whats wrong with women wearing work boots without being called a dike. i think it has alot to do with stereotypes. a majority of people have an image of what they think males should look like and what females should look like. thankfully times are changing slowly and there is alot more acceptance of people that break these "stereotypes". to be specific with high heals though you might want to look into why they were invented for women in the first place. and why it might seem strange for some people to see a heterosexual, masculine male wearing them. stereotypes have been implanted into our brains for generations. its not as simple as flicking a switch and making people think differently.

There are too many people crossing the gap, which is making the standard of social gender inaccurate if not incorrect in its description of men and women. Are the organs for reproduction the factors that classify our gender or is gender a product of one's personality traits and talents?

As a male toddler, I desired to wear the patent leather mary janes. I didn't know I had to be a certain type of gender. I didn't even know there was such a word then. All I knew was, those shoes were the ones I want to wear. Of course, I was told no, but that didn't stop my desire. Later, I found a chance to have a pair of my own and I latched on to them so firmly, only death could take them away. Activities and time wore them out and that ended the wearing, but not my desire to continue to have and wear feminine footwear like them.

To shorten the story, let me say, as a heterosexual, I have never lost that desire, even though I have since learned of the societal standard for "crossdressing" as it has been labeled. To me, it is still a natural feeling to wear the footwear that fits my fancy.

I have grown up in a world that looks down on male femininity, and I have learned to keep my activities in wearing high heels fairly secretive. Exhibiton and glory are not the results I want to follow my daily activities. However, living under a societal deception that tells us all males are masculine and all females are feminine is a standard to be revised. Women have enjoyed their jump back and forth across this man-made gender gap. Today's socially defined masculinity is accepted and idealized by the world, in general. The men who have the needs and desires of the present feminine stereotype are demoted and reviled to a sub-standard status, when all they wanted is to be who they are: a person with the abilities and achievements equal to any other person's possibilities, if given the chance. I really don't understand why femininity should be given less of a value status in this intellectually enriched stage of the human race. As it has been said before, we should not be so quick to judge another person until we walk in their shoes, even if they're high heels.

all sorts of places carry these now, and they come in all styles and sizes. just go have a look around in stores. target, walmart, aldo, steve madden, whatever your budget can accomidate. go check all sorts of stores, shoe shopping really isnt something you should do online. if you go shopping in a store, you can take the time to try them on and walk around in them for a bit to see if they are comfortable, and how well they really look on you. ive seen some shoes i thought were hidious, then i put them on and they just sort of worked....its hard to explain. but then there are some shoes you see and say "oh, those are cute" but then you put them on and see them in a mirror and cant think of a single thing you would wear them with. just go browse around. it really is a hands on type of thing.

I'm like you, I love the look of wedges but for myself I think the kitten is a bit more femenine and sexy, plus very comfy. Only problem is they cost a fortune in re-heeling. Every pair of heels that I own always flop or come off of my heel when I walk. It seems to me that I have high arched feet and that the pumps are too low on the heel for them to stay on. The sizing is correct but they all do this I have even tried going down a size and it still happens. So are there any high heel shoes that have a deeper heel area where they won't flop when I walk?

Reply:They make pad things you can put in the heel. Like a foot pad but, they go in the upper heel part. I live in high heels and I use them in every pair I own. They are pretty cheap and just help to make the shoe a little more snug. So no more flopping!

I'm a high heeled shoes virgin - I'm used to trainers or ridiculously high heeled boots. My problem is that because one foot is a size bigger than the other, one foot invariably gets rubbed by the shoe until my heel/ankle is cut up and killing me. What products are available for that? Do they make things that you can stick on for protection? I'd wear tights/socks but that's not an option in the middle of summer!

Go to your local phamacy- Dr.Scholls has tons of products- they have a spray that makes your foot rub less, so no blisters, they have cushion pads (like bandaids with extra stuff) that have gel that protect areas that are prone to blisters etc. Check it out! Also when you go out take some stuff with you in case your feet get sore and you can save your feet for the night- I love heels! Trust me I know! You can also buy heel grips and inserts so that if you bought the size that fit your biggest foot you can make the other one fit too- that could cause you less pain?

I'm a guy and I have a question for all the ladies out there. When my female colleagues complain about wearing high heels hurt their feet, is that because it's a bad pair of shoes or pretty much all high heels just hurt anyway? Does the heel have to reach a certain height for it to hurt or it's more due to the shape/material of most high heel shoes? And if you happen to be a lady who wears high heels all the day, what do you do to relieve this problem?

P.S. I don't pay extra attention to women's feet/shoes. Don't take me wrong, hehe. This is a question out of pure curiosity.

The second consideration is the basically the "architecture" of the shoe -- do the straps cut into your feet, is there a buckle that digs into your ankle, does it cut off the circulation to your pinky toe, does it rub a blister the size of a half-dollar on your heel ... that kind of thing. It's a hit or miss thing. I only have 3 or 4 pairs of heels that I can wear form more than 6 hours. The rest of them were purchased for vanity, not comfort. Guys are so dang lucky.

If you want to know how to prevent it, use Band-Aids blister preventer, which looks like deoderant. Put it on before you step on a high heel!

Reply:Once you get used to wearing them, they should not hurt other than if you've been wearing them all day long. Heels over 4.5 inches are difficult to wear because they are so high - however, most regular footwear is around 3-4 inches. I wear heels all the time and have no problems at all as long as the shoes/boots themselves are well made. Some women's heeled shoes/boots are poorly designed - if you look at the shoe itself you can see it straight away - they are not the correct shape for your foot and almost 'tilt' you forwards. I think this is just crappy design. This type of footwear is a killer and your feet ache more or less straight away after putting them on. Next time you come across somebody suffering ask to have a look at the shoe itself - you can see straight away if it's not the right shape. I cannot say exactly what is wrong with the shape, it's just not quite right. Of course, squeezing your feet into anything that is too narrow or not the right size is going to hurt but I wear my boots all day long (and they have a 4.5" heel) and barely even notice them). I hate the pointy closed toed high heel shoes of today's current fashion. I would love to find the closed toed high heel shoes that were normal looking during the 80s and 90s. But I can't find them anymore in any store and it really bothers me. I see oprah wear these pointy witch shoes all the time. I hate them and I think they are so ugly. I don't get why so many women like the look of these. I wish they would stop making them. I just want to be able to find a simple black closed toe high heel shoe that looks normal. sincerely frustrated.

They will cause bunions if they are worn too much. I agree with you, they need to also come up with a fashionable shoe, but that is comfortable to wear. Did you ladies know that when you wear only a two inch heal your calf's get a better workout than with a higher heal?

I just bought a pair of New Balance shoes (my favorite brand).

I walk around campus alot and they have rubbed the heels of my feet so much that there are now bloody sores. (gross I know)

Any suggestions on what I should do?

Will it go away after they are more broken in?

Would it be better to tighten or loosen the laces?

Reply:Put a small clothe, in your socks, and outside your socks!
Reply:It could be that your shoes are too loose. Try putting Dr. Scholes shoes inserts inside your shoes to take up some room.
Reply:I suggest that you exchange them for a slightly bigger size. You could also buy some pairs of very comfortable socks so that the rubbing will not be so painful. Sometimes shoes are just not very comfortable for a specific person's feet and there is nothing that you can do to the shoes.

Many women have that really uncomfortable pair of shoes but they really like it. They walk everywhere with them and then their feet hurt like hell. Maybe that is your problem.
Reply:it's harder to do on the plastic shoes, but for the good leather shoes as soon as I buy them (they better be ones I really liked), I pour some water in the tub and walk around in there for a while and stretch them out (if I plan to do a lot of walking in them) till they sound gooshy and then I let them dry.

In past years I knew people who lived thru the depression and their feet were all out of shape cause they had to wear ill fitting shoes and I swore I'd never have mine look like that.

Sometimes either (my/your) heel doesn't sit high enough because the shoe doesn't have enough padding. And you can solve that by pulling up the solepiece and adding some lift to it and then re-gluing the solepiece.

Other times it's the rim that hurts, and in that case I get out the hammer and pound on it till it feels good.

But you have to decide first if you really want to work out the problem or not...If not then simply return the shoes (while wearing flip flops) to the store as they may give you a due bill for a different pair (when your heels have healed).

Neosporine quickly heals rubs that have become infected. You can't really put bandaids on some places on the feet, and you can't walk with bandaids in shoes because that makes it worse. So I suggest you wear sandals for a few days till the rub heals.

I have to admit that I never wear socks in shoes because they fold over and rub and make a soreor get holes in the socks too easily (can't afford that), so I either wear hose or I use babypowder in the shoes to make my feet slick in them. Sure it's real slick for a little while but that slick wears off.
Reply:You have too much friction.. Pad the affected area.. Keep it clean as you are at risk for infection. with any open areas. Loosen up the shoe laces. Return the shoes.. Examine to make sure you have the appropriate size.. sometimes shoe companys sizes vary. and you may not initially realize that they're not fitting you the way shoes normally do. If indeed they are of correct sizing..maybe even try the shoe again with the exact new pair. Couldve been a flaw with the first pair.

Reply:i would wear socks ( if you're not already ) and if you're not, i put small folded up tissues where ever the blisters are, but after an hour or so ( if you've been walking a lot ) you have to change them out because they slip a lot.

most shoes stop doing that after you break them in, but i have this one pair that hasn't stopped doing that and i got them fall of 2006.

you probably want to loosen the laces. on my sperry's thye sometimes give me blisters or feel like they are going to. i usually loosen the laces as much as i can without tripping.

Quick fix for heel coming out of shoe please!!?

I bought a really cute pair of shoes and my heel keeps coming out of my shoe with every other step it seems like. I tried the smaller size but it was too small. Now, i have a meeting in 30 mins and i dont want to walk in tripping on my shoe... anyone have a quick fix? should i stuff TP in the toes? Will that help?

Buy some faux paux suede heel cups at any drug store, like Scholls products.
Reply:Put something between your shoe besides TP, as the moisture from your foot will cause the TP to break down. use Newspaper, or a plain sheet of paper. Wad it up and shape it to the shape of the toe of the shoe and then press it in place and test your foot. Keep adjusting until you have the right fit.

If you have a Walgreens or something nearby, Dr. Schols has a heel pad which sticks to the inside of the shoe heel which will grip your heel more tightly and give you a great fit.

Lucite heels- fashion faux pas? Ok, not stripper shoes, but I got a pair that have a kitten heel, which is a small heel, they are sandals that are clear with a silver buckle and silver sole in the footbed. I have not worn them yet.... I just can't figure out if they're in style or not.

A kitten heel is a short, slender heel, usually from 3.5 centimeters (1.5 inches) to 5 centimeters (2 inches) high with a slight curve. The style was popularized by Audrey Hepburn. Why they are called kitten heels? Probably because they aren't a meter off the ground and is easy to walk in.

What does it mean and where did the term originate?

A kitten heel is a stiletto heel of 5 centimeters or less in height; some are as low as 3 centimeters. They are classified as stiletto heels and despite their lack of height are generally classified as 'high heels' because of their sex appeal; particularly when teamed with a sharp pointed toe or long 'winklepicker' toe. This is an anomaly because a shoe or pump with regular wide heels of 3.5 centimeters high would be considered a 'flat shoe' and generally devoid of sex appeal; it is the addition of a stiletto heel, however short, that turns it into a sexual accessory.

They were introduced in the late 1950s as formal fashion attire for young adolescent teenage girls as higher heels would have been considered unseemly for girls as young as 13 because of the sexual connotations and unease of walk. They were sometimes referred to as "trainer heels" in the USA indicating their use in getting young girls used to wearing high heels. However by the early 1960s they became fashionable for older teenagers and eventually for women of all ages until the demise of the stiletto heel in the late 1960s. They emerged again in the 1980s and have become once again fashionable since 2003.

I bought a new pair of shoes the other week for a formal do. It was a very wet and muddy evening, and unfortunately I got a great deal of mud over my shoes. When I went to clean my shoes, the mud and dirt washed off of most of the shoe except for at the heels, where some brown and grey areas formed after I'd (perhaps a bit too zealously) tried to wash off the mud. I was wondering if any one is aware of any remedies for restoring the black colour of the heels?

My right leg is about an inch shorter... its throwing my whole body off. My pelvis, spine, and shoulders are not even. It's about an inch off. I am a 20 something female. I want a lift in only one shoe, a normal shoe... I don't usually wear openned toed shoes or "heels".

Where can I find lifts? Are there any places where I can try them on at the store? How do I get it to stay in place in my shoe? What materials should I look out for or avoid? Any other tips? :)

First of all, have you determined if it's an anatomically short leg (meaning one of your bones is shorter, in my case it's my left femur), or a functionally short leg? If you don't know the difference, you can find a lot of information on the web, just be sure it's from a reputable source, not someone who's trying to sell you a heel lift.

Have you spoken to your doctor about this?

If your leg is anatomically short, I would start out gradually by putting a small lift inside the heel of your shoe (choose one of your shoes or boots that has some depth to it). That's because your body is currently used to having a short leg, and anything too drastic in the other direction can be hard on it, too...conventional wisdom suggests that you stop when you've built up about half of the difference, but since most of us can only accommodate about 1/4 inch discrepancy with no problem, you may want to have a bigger boost than 1/2 inch.

I have found that an external lift is more stable and less noticeable to me as I walk and stand--but I'm vain enough that I usually just go for the lift inside my shoe. Plus, with an internal lift you don't have to spend the same $$$ and you can swap your lift from one pair of shoes to another. Or, to answer your question, some heel lifts come with a strip of adhesive which helps them stay in place. I've never found that necessary, although it depends on the shoe, because if I put a full lift inside some of my loafers which are not deep enough, my foot kind of flops out of the shoe :-) and my leg isn't quite as short as yours.

One of my friends has a slightly short leg, and she likes tall high heels--I never noticed that one was "taller" than the other, until she pointed it out to me.

As for material, I'd just go to a local shoe repair shop and ask for their input. Tell them you want to start out with a lift inside your shoe to see how you like it--and while you're there, ask them what it would cost and look like to have a shoe built up on the outside. Or, for starters, you could just go to your local drug store and buy some Dr. Scholl heel lifts. I buy a generic brand, and double up on them, putting both lifts of the pair in one shoe. Again, you'll want to start out with just one though...then increase it gradually until you know you've got the right amount. You'll know because you'll see you've got a straight posture looking in the mirror--both sides of your pelvis and both shoulders will be even. It's a good feeling after years of being lopsided! :-)

For a musical I am in I was given a pair of silver heels to wear. They remind me of character shoes(the look) but the bottom of the shoe is NOT! They are VERY slick and I am unable to dance in them without almost taking a face plant. I wanted to wear my black character shoes but the costumer wants me to wear silver shoes. Is there anything I can put on the bottom of the shoes(like a pad or something) to make them eaiser to dance in? I really don't want to buy silver character shoes!

Take a knife and VERY CAREFULLY cross-hatch the bottom of your shoes. Also, you could takes some coarse sandpaper (40-60 grit) and rough up the bottom of the shoes. I wouldn't suggest putting rubber on the bottom because then it would be too much traction. Another idea is to find some of the black tape that studios use to tape down marley. It's basically vinyl tape.

Just find some and tape the bottom of your shoes. It should provide some sort of traction.

You should probably also get some gel insets for the bottom of your shoes if you'll be dancing in them. :)

Reply:You can get the shoemaker to put non-slick soles on your shoes, or you might try spray painting your silver character shoes. Sometimes designers can be very silly about things like that - but putting a dancer in slipper shoes is not the smartest move in the world......

Reply:You can go to a shoe repair shop (kinda hard to find, ask around) and they can usually put rubber on the bottom. There is one called Tulle's but I'm pretty sure it isn't a chain. I think they melt it on somehow, but I'm not sure. I wouldn't recommend trying it yourself because that could be even more dangerous if it comes off, and you could get too grippy with it so you can't turn. Sooo, check the phonebook, yellow pages, etc. for shoe repair shops and take the shoes there. I think it costs $20 or less. Good luck in your show! I just finished West Side Story myself.

why is it that you always get gorgeous shoes in high heels - i am quite tall and would love to wear nice shoes with not so high heels but i cant find any. sandals, boots peep toe shoes - i just cant find any gorgeous ones that have small heels. i cant really walk in heels - i would like to learn though - any tips? i feel that wearing heels makes my legs too long and they are quite thin so its not a very good look.

Reply:Oh my! I wish I could complain that my legs looked too long... I wear heels all the time and the only way to learn how to walk in them is practise, practise in the house by a mirror where noone can see you, but you can check your posture. Start with high boots as they are easier to walk in.

If you already have long legs then I can see that this would be annoying! Have you tried wedge heels? They are usually very comfortable, and easy to walk in. Also, there are quite a lot of shoes around at the moment with smaller "kitten" heels, so you could look out for those.

are there any places that can get shoes specially made for you? i have huge problems when it comes to buying heels and ballet flat shoes. my feet is small but wide, so that makes it really hard for me to buy heels because they make the soles narrow. ballet flat shoes are another problem for me. im a size 6, when i try on a size 6 of that shoe (which is the smallest size), it won't fit me because my feet are too small (meaning its short)so it won't ft the entire shoe! plz help!

I start by marking the hole and insterting a straight pin. I work the pin in a circle to widen the hole. Then I insert the latch. If the hole doesnt get big enough from the pin then I use something larger like a nail. It works everytime without ruining the strap of the shoe and without making the hole too big.
Reply:take a long needle, heat it, then poke it through. should go through nice and easy.

Reply:to avoid much hassle, just bring your shoe to the cobbler and tell him that you need a hole on the strap. it's not expensive.... if not, most shoe shop would have the equipment to either enlarge the shoe(if enlarge-able) or puncture holes. so before you leave the shop after your purchase, you can also ask the shop assistant to do it for you.

Reply:Take some clay and put it underneath the strap. Then cut a little hole with skissors, and widen it with a small nail.

Reply:Place the strap on a piece of wood. Take a nail of the right size and poke it through the strap with a hammer. Pretty easy.
Reply:Look, you didn't spend money on shoes to make a hole by knifes or other items that would damage the shoes and probably make a torn looking hole. What you can do is go to a shoe repair shop or a clothing shops that sells belts and they have a tool that can do this perfectly and most of the time for little or no cost.

Reply:If you have an eyeglass kit with the small screwdriver, use that. Press it against carpeted floor or a mattress and poke through it.

If you don't have a small screwdriver, try using a fork, or even a safetly pin. Once you make the hole, put the strap on in the hole just to make it larger.

Reply:A very tiny screwdriver will do this, or you can use a TINY drill bit, you have to make sure the strp is not wiggling all over if you are using a drill. You may be able to screw the drill bit through the strap, depending upon your own strength.

Heels are a girl's best friend in terms of elongating your legs, NOT making you look fatter. Look for a pointed toe and your legs will look a mile long.
Reply:nope. just make sure they're proportional. Like, dont walk around in a dainty little stilleto... go for more of a wedge heel they'll balance you out more. however, you can wear heels other than wedges, too. pointy toes look good cause they make your legs longer, especially with pants/jeans/trousers/.

If you feel comfortable then wear them no matter what anyone says remember having pride in how you look comes across and impresses people. :) If you feel pretty then you are pretty :)

Personally, I would stick with flats. There are so many cute shoes out there that I am sure you could find a cute pair to go with just about any outfit in your wardrobe. Target has great flats and so does Payless Shoes.

I have trouble wearing heels - even low ones - because my feet sweat so much that they slide forward and my toes are perpetually crushed against the front of the shoe. I am wondering what I can do to solve this issue and if there are any particular styles of heeled shoes that may relieve the pain.

I would try a square or wide round-toed shoe and avoid any that are pointy.

Baby powder works well at absorbing moisture, but it's also slippery and may cause your feet to slide forward, so I would also get an insole like a Dr. Scholl's Odor-Eaters for instance to help keep your feet dry and in place.

Also, ballet flats are in right now, so you might take advantage of that trend to give your feet a break.

Reply:Yes. The thing about stilettos is that the design puts a lot of pressure/weight on the ball of your foot, which is why they hurt so much after a few hours of wear. What you can do though is go with a slightly chunkier heel as it'll distribute the weight more evenly on your foot. Just because a heel is a little thicker doesn't mean the shoe or boot can't be super stylish! I've got a pair of Miu Miu boots that have a thicker heel and they're as cool as my stiletto Jimmy Choos!

My guess? It was maybe to keep feet in stirrups, or to keep the shoe from wearing out. Most of your weight is on the heel, so additional layers of leather would help it wear longer.
Reply:It looks good on girls - standing on tip-toes in heels makes women's legs look longer, which is something that is attractive, and it makes them arch their back more, which is also a good thing.

I understand they're not that comfortable, but women have always suffered for their beauty! I think it's also a western thing, because in China, they used to (and still do in some places) bind women's feet so they were small, and danty, and they never wore heals, just flat ballerina-type shoes.

All in all, it's because it looks good. Flat feet give an impression of sloth, or lack of confidence. But a women wearing pointy shoes, standing tall on her toes gives an athletic, ready-for-action, graceful, and light quality. I think that's the idea.

Hi All,

I just bought a pair of heels I adore. I noticed that the inner part of the foot is not supported by the sole of the shoe.

I've wearing these pair of heels around the house to see if there's discomfort, so far it's been 1 1/2 hours and it's okay

Ideally i'd like to be able to wear them for the whole day at work.

Try walking on different types of ground. (carpet,tile,wood).

Also, you can try walking outside with your shoes just for a little 10 minutes walk , and see how it goes.

When you wear you shoes to the office, maybe you should bring spare shoes with you, so that if your shoes doesn't fit, you can wear your spare comfortable shoe on X) !!

Reply:Well it usually take time to break into them. My last heels hurted my feet the first time I wore them. I got blisters and my feet was really sore. After that, never had any problems.

I've heard also that if it's expensive, name brand heels, it's a better design for your feet. I think that's true too.

I once heard a theory that high heels were invented by a foot fetishist, due to the way they make feet look, and as a sort of 'bondage' for feet.

But when I see a woman ogling heels in a shoe-shop window, it seems to me that she is more interested in the shoes (or having possession of the shoes) than she is in the whole foot aspect.

So what do you think, are men and women going at this from completely different angles, and what is it that you like about high heeled shoes, or why do people like them so much? :-)

I've run across a sexual subculture of men who seem to fetishize the shoe itself, either instead of or in addition to the foot. Specifically, some of them seem to really like it when a woman lets her shoe dangle from her toes, and others seem to really like the idea of seeing a shoe that has accidentally fallen off of the foot. Google "shoe dangling" and you'll find a few sites.

Dunno if that's what you wanted, but it's interesting. =) As for myself, I do like high heeled shoes, not on me but on other people. I like the shape it gives to the leg overall.
Reply:I'm thinking men fetishise (I'll buy it) women's feet because it's a part of a woman's body that is very rarely exposed, except in the summer, but even then she's usually wearing something on them. They are something females are often self-conscious about as well. Therefore, since we don't get to see them often, it's a treat when we do.

Note: Foot fetishes don't happen with anywhere near the frequency in Island cultures. I can only assume there's no stigma to something you see every day.

Reply:I have always noted this myself. I have a bit of a foot thing, so this is a topic I have put some thought into. People claim to think feet are disgusting, but pedicures, foot jewelry, and strappy shoes are all the rage. All this attention to the feet is interesting if people really do think feet are nasty. I think high-heel shoes became popular because they offer a nice shape to the legs since it flexes the calf muscles. They also provide hight and make the legs look longer, which is something considered attractive in our society. In fact, women who wear them all the time end up getting nasty feet with bunions and callouses. It could be an offshoot of the foot-binding that was popular in the orient.

Reading over some of these answers, I recall a time when the notion of the foot fetish was considered completely bizarre. I saw an episode of Maury Povich several years ago where they had a fellow on there with a foot fetish and you'd have thought he had two heads and four arms and liked sex with dead bodies. Now, it is basically seen as a fairly common and socially accepted reality. Even Playboy published a couple of special issues on it. Just an interesting point (to me at least).

Having just returned from Latvia, most women aged between 16 and 50 are wearing wedge heels or wooden mules with heels around 4" to 6". These are worn as normal day wear and they appear to walk normally around cobbled streets and unmade paths as if they were wearing flat shoes. In fact it was hard to spot any flat or low heeled shoes being worn at all. I must admit that I love the higher heel and so long as I can walk in the shoe, I will wear them. What do you think ?

Reply:when i worked in nursing the elderly i used to cringe at the damage high heels have done to their feet.I agree they look great and if i could get away with wearing them all the time apart from when i have a nite out i would.However they arent so comfortable and cause bunions,aswell as deformed toes,and do lead to causing walking problems when you get older.I think kitten heels and pretty shoes for the day look nice,and theres no way i could walk around cobbled streets in 5 inch heels every day.

Reply:It's up to you if you feel comftable wearing them every day and can work normally in them then wear them but let me worn you they will damage your achillies tendon in the long term which means you may not be able to walk in flats after a few years of walking in very high heels constantly.

Reply:sounds okay if you get nice shoes and are capable of wearing them without twisting your ankle (which is really painful, really really painful, 'never wear heels again my ankle hurts so much' painful). long term they can have some adverse affects on the soft and hard tissues of the ankle, foot and calf, i've heard about the tendon up the back of the heel permanently shortening from wearing heels too often, but those people wore heels everyday for decades. they should be fine as long as you make sure to also wear some flat shoes sometimes, or sneakers/trainers.

Hello, I just purchased some lovely high heels shoes. Unfortunately, the sole on the ball of the shoe is really slippery, I slide when I walk on carpet and it is not much better on tiles or floorboards. Can I do something to fix this? Like some coarse sand paper? Or should I leave it with the professionals and get a shoe repairer to fix it.

I had this problem with a pair of stilettos i bought.

Take them to the shoe repair place, get them to replace the bottom part of your shoe with rubber.

You can't tell anything is different, it still looks really good and its so super grippy you can run in them!
Reply:Bring them to a shoe repair place and they'll put on a rubber sole for you. It's pretty inexpensive too. My sister did this with a pair of boots and it helps a lot. I wouldn't advise sandpaper - I used to work in a shoe shop and saw one or two girls that did that and it doesn't really work, it just roughens the appearance a bit.
Reply:If you look in the shoe section, they have various things that will fix this. The little tap like things that are nailed on, like Target. One of my friends swears by taping them...gorilla glue tape, in the hardware section..LOL

If in doubt go and visit the shoe repair and ask about options.

Reply:There's no need to mess with sandpaper. The first thing to do is just to walk around on a not-too-polished concrete surface for a little while, like a regular sidewalk, occasionally perhaps doing a little pirouette on the offending ball of your foot. If that doesn't work, THEN do the more drastic things.
Reply:Option 1 is to make the soles rougher with sand paper, a file or course flooring etc. Option 2 is for a tailors or shoe shop to add rubber soles.
Reply:You can buy self-stick sole grippers for a quick fix. It helps with the sliding on new shoes before you really break them in.
Reply:I've had the same problem with my shoes. Bakers Shoes has awesome adhesive, non-slip pads. You attach them to the bottom of your shoes and viola! They work miracles. They're inexpensive too.

I noticed a lady in a shoe shop the other day. She was part of the staff. She was tearing shoe boxes apart very loudly and making lots of small pieces. She was wearing four inch heels too which she moved around as she stood. She seemed to be enjoying tearing the boxes as she was laughing and joking with another member of staff. Do any other ladies like to break or tear things while they are wearing their heels. Does wearing the heels make you feel more powerful or confident to do that?

Another female member of staff joined her to help with the boxes. This member of staff was wearing 1/2 inch heel shoes and she merely pulled down each corner off the box to make them stack flat. The staff member with the heels was ripping the boxes into small pieces and being much more destructive. Do you think this was to do with the shoes?

I wear a size 7 shoe so thats what I ordered. Every pair fits the same - they are big in the heel and slip off the back of my feet. Some of them have a piece of elastic in the heel that helps a little, but just not enough. I have spent a lot of money on these shoes and I want to wear them. Reply:I am at the opposite end of the spectrum, I wear an 11 wide and all I can find are nurses shoes or crappy looking tennis shoes in my size. I sympathize with you and am sure there is some place out there that caters to that size. I am wondering (for myself) where drag queens get their shoes. When I buy shoes, I usually wind up in the men's dept buying something dykey looking.

Your question has bugged me all day due to computer problems and the nature of your question. The answer is Both Heels %26amp; Flats are worn by Navy Females. It depends on the uniform (working, service, Dress, Formal dress, Dinner dress). This is spelled out in Navy uniform regs. 3501-54 thru 58.

How to stop hearing annoying lady shoes heels stepping sound of many women in public areas?
Plug your ears or listen to your mp3 with the volume up really loud.
Reply:Unfortunately you can't really do anything to stop hearing that sound. You could try to obstruct your hearing (MP3 player, ear plugs) but then you wouldn't be able to hear anything at all.

Since these are public areas, you can't prohibit women from wearing heels or other shoes that make noise.
Reply:1.) Convince them to all wear Birkenstocks.

2.) Trip them so you can grab their shoes and break the heals off.

3.) Tell them that there are a LOT of other women (and most men too) who absolutely despise getting behind a woman who slows pedestrian traffic down because she doesn't know how to walk assertively and effectively in heels (Man that is REALLY annoying!). Fug--I was able to actually jog in 3" spikes. If ya can't do that then DON'T wear them!!! You're a public annoyance/menace.

4.) If it's only the SOUND that you object to--man! You are way over the top when it comes to being sensible. DEF get an MP3 and live in your own little heel-click free world.

Reply:Confront all of the women that have "annoying heels" and tell them to wear self-adhesive cotton pads on the bottoms of their shoes. Would that help?.. Okay that was a joke. Seriously, don't do that. Haha. I agree with the number one and number two answers, either pump up the volume on your mp3 player or iPod or talk very loudly.. Other than that, stay in your home until heels go out of style. Which probably won't happen?

General purposes I wear Birkenstocks or Betulas that have a natural footbed. Leather sandals (never totally flat or uni-sex looking. I've always been a girl; now a BabyBoomerGal.

If I choose to dress up more than sandals; I'll wear a pair of enticing backless heels but not higher than 2.5 inches or so. I find wearing casual or dress up sandals or most heels that it's best for me to wear them in colors matching colors of my skin. Natural tones never dark.

Then I have that black pair of funeral heels. Lord have mercy did I say that in public?

Oops, I forgot my hunting boots; I wear a light-weight style in Boys size 3 (ladies six ).

Overall, NO SHOES is best feeling for this gal.

Flip-flops: They go with everything, are easy to put on, and have great venalation.
Reply:I like to wear high heels, they can be a bit uncomfortable, but they make me feel taller, and more confident. But if u r looking for something to wear that is comfy and stylish, i suggest cute brown or pink tennis shoes.

Reply:Well it really dpends on what you're wearing. but flip flops go well with everything! and so do pumps/dolly shoes, they add sophistication to almost every outfit. Sneakers are cute with jeans if you're going for a cute, casual laid back look.

I think i am supposed to tie them up higher around my legs but my dress is kinda like goes down in a diagonal line so i am not quite sure and the straps wont stay up!

A friend of mine ties them around her foot ( under the sole) Since they are heels the tie doesnt touch ground and you can see this when you are wearing them, they look like they were ment to be like that....then tie them around the ankle ....

They actually help to stabalize the shoe, becuase before when she tied them up her leg, in an hour the ties would fall with any movement she was doint
Reply:Usually you tie them up your legs, but, you can always just tie them in a bow around your ankles.

Reply:My girlfriend has some 4.5 inch REALLY strappy heels. She starts at the ankle then works her way up to the knee (or to as far the string goes). If its not enough string to strap your self in, get some extra straps and start from under the heel and lace up. My girl friend does is with some of her no lacey heels that aren't enough support.

Most of the shoes they wear are just special character shoes that you can get in any dance shop. I would check out Capezio, kind of expensive but will have the most selection. Also, Discount Dance Supply has a lot of shoes.

Reply:most dance shoppes DO NOT stock ballroom or specialized character shoes. they will have basic characters, usually up to a 2.5 heel. you can however have shoppes custom order them from companies like dario, usa, etc. some specialized stores do have them, but its much less common.
