I'm 5ft 7.. is this too tall for heels?

I'm 5ft 7 and love buying and looking at high heeled shoes (3inches +) however, i just feel too tall in them once got them on, and they usualy end up at the back of my wardrme never worn. Im just wondering do other women my sort of height have this problem? I do have short friends and i think that maybe the case, plus my bf is only 5ft10, and with heels i just feel so manly in height, but so femine with heels on! He also says that heels are for shorter people.. meaning not me :(

its not a matter of being too tall. it's a matter of having the confidence.
Reply:why would 5'7" be to tall for heels? Sounds like you are scared of heights. Whats he know about heels? Are you sure he is straight? Go for what makes you feel good and dont worry about his opinion of you in heels.

Reply:You are never too tall for heels. There are drag queens taller than you and they wear 5 inch stiletto platforms. And supermodels wear 3inch heels and up and they are just as tall as you.





So work those heels honey. If the drag queens and the super models can do it, so can you!!!!!
Reply:its weather you feel like wearing them and like them... who cares about your height... i should wear heels at a mere 5ft1 but i wear flats all the time!! im not bothered with my height so neither should you its your choice and if people say your too tall tough S*** plus your feet will look sexy!

Reply:you can wear high heeled shoes!! 5'7 is not that tall that you cant wear heels. maybe your boyfriend tells you that because he wants to seem more manly when he is walking around with you in 3 in + heels and he wants to feel better about himself. if i were you i would still wear heels, but buy the thinner ones that are like 2 in. so that they look femine and have the look that you love but the height isnt as tall.
Reply:I'm 5'7 and I wear heels everyday!! I love them. They make me feel so girly. Now, I will say that my husband is also 5'7, so when I wear heels, he is shorter than me. For some people, they think that thats a bad thing, but it doesn't bother me at all. I have two things I love, my husband and my heels. Do what feels right for you.,....don't let others influence your style!!
Reply:You are never too tall for heels! I can understand because I am 5'7 myself and refuse to wear them, but I still wear wedges sometimes:) It depends on your confidence level. If you want to go out to dinner where you can feel sexy with pretty feet but you never have to stand up lol, thats what i do!:) Wear your heels then, but never reduce yourself to flipflops bc your bf is insecure;)

Reply:I know exactly how you feel I'm the same height as you, but trust me you proberly look great, you just feel tall next to your short boyf (no offence intended). Heels look fantastic on women, it makes there whole posture more feminine and attractive. ie. why they stick models in them.


He's just saying that because he's insecure about his height, and you wearing heals makes him feel smaller. Seems unfair for him to say that to you, I had a boyf like that before.


You probably look hot and model like, and maybe he finds it threatning. maybe you should think of ditching the boyf for a taller one, one who bigs you up and doesn't put you down to make himself feel better. x

Reply:You make me giggle. I'm 5'11" and my boyfriend is 6'1", I wear at least 3 inch heels to work and when we go out sometimes. He loves it, even if I am a little taller than him.





I've asked others this question before at work and they say you're never too tall for heels. I have to agree. :)

Maybe that's what your boyfriend is worried about.





Don't feel manly with heels on; I'm only 5'2 and I can't walk in heels! I'm jealous of you, girl! Heels look great on a woman of your height.





In my opinion, you need to wear your heels.... and get a boyfriend who isn't such a pathetic wimp that he feels threatened by how good you look. Whilst you're at it, get a taller boyfriend ;-)

Reply:Well I'm 5'9'' and i were heals out 3-4 inch ones, plus my hubby is only 5'7''.
Reply:I am 5ft 7 as well and I own no shoes with a shorter heel height than 3 inches. I have gotten so used to them that I don't leave the house with out heels. I guess I am the opposite, I'm self conscience without heels. My husband is 5 ft 11 and he doesn't mind. I think maybe it's your boyfriends hang up and not yours.

Reply:I am 5'9" and live in heels-- the taller the better. So 5'7" is NOT too tall. My boyfriend is 5'11", and he has no problem with me being taller than him when I wear my heels.





Stand up straight, don't slouch, and be proud of your height.
