what is the name of the Japanese Manga flm where a lady ninja jumps from pltform to platform on her toes in some big cavernouse area, but on one platform she catches an upturned nail on the sole of her shoe (heel) and keeps on jumping - innevitably jumping relaxing her entire foot onto the nail and hollers to her death?

That was Aeon Flux -- the original version that was shown in six five-minute segements on MTV's Liquid Television in the `90's. It's not a Japanese manga film, though I can easily see how it could be mistaken for one. It was created by Peter Chung in the United States.
